About Dr. Baranwal

Purnima Baranwal, MD, FAAP, is a skilled pediatrician at Cardinal Pediatrics in Lowell and Chelmsford, Massachusetts. Since 2007, Dr. Baranwal has served patients in the Lowell and Chelmsford area, working with diverse communities and connecting with local community health resources. 

Dr. Baranwal graduated from Gandhi Medical College in Bhopal, India, and completed her pediatric residency at one of the leading teaching hospitals in India. She became chief resident during this time based on academic performance. Dr. Baranwal managed several vaccine-preventable diseases, including Chicken Pox, Diphtheria, Measles, Tuberculosis, and other infectious diseases.

Upon moving to Massachusetts, Dr. Baranwal decided to open her own practice to focus more closely on working with her patients and their families. Dr. Baranwal is passionate about connecting families with community resources. She is affiliated with Lowell General Hospital.

​When not working at Cardinal Pediatrics, Dr. Baranwal likes to run, hike, and cook with her children. She lives in a multigenerational family with her father, mother-in-law, husband, two children, and a dog.
